Little Blue Bunny knitting pattern for beginners
I know just how many of you share my love of Claire Garland’s Dot Pebbles Knits knitting patterns. So, when I saw this new, totally adorable little blue bunny pattern I had to share it with you. Claire has consciously made this bunny very simple and quick to make. So it’s perfect for anyone not sure their knitting is quite up to one of her more involved and challenging patterns. Or at least not yet.

Materials
Drops Alpaca Silk (brushed) – just one ball is needed to make two bunnies. Claire made the two bunnies pictured using Light Sea Green and Light Grey Green
A pair, per bunny, of 6mm black amigurami toy eyes (selection available to buy on Etsy here)
3mm knitting needles (selection available to buy from John Lewis & Partners here)
Claire’s tips
This is an all-in-one bunny – literally everything is joined on as you knit.
It’s quick to make. I can make this in a day and I’m definitely not a fast knitter!
This pattern uses all techniques I use in my other patterns, but I’d say it’s a little simpler.
Video tutorials
There are three videos covering the stages of making this beginner bunny available on Claire’s youtube channel. What’s great is that they really do start at the very beginning. Learn how to cast on stitches if you’re not sure how. Claire then takes you right through every stage of the process.
Third video – finishing your bunny

Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I’m in the process of k ittingPeter Rabbit. I’m not a beginner, but I’m far from an experienced knitter. I’ve done about as much ripping out as I’ve done knitting. But I love it. Thank you, so much.

Hi – I fell in love with the bunny pictures and leapt into making it this weekend. I’m definitely a beginner, but was feeling great following the directions in the pdf (which differ a bit from the directions in the video) until I got the end of row 60. The the pdf says “left hind leg . . . short rows to create the top of the left leg.” and there are 12 short rows, which I don’t understand how to execute AT ALL! and then there’s row 61. HELPPPP!!!! The video didn’t explain this, the pdf doesn’t explain this and I’m feeling sooooo stuck! I was going to bring this on a trip tomorrow as my plane/airport fun, but now I’m not sure I will be able to make any progress on it, so not sure I should bring it! Where can I find an explanation for a knitting beginner to understand the legs?? I would SOOOO appreciate help!! TIA
