Spring wreath ideas to make or buy.
After what feels like months of never ending rain, interminably leaden skies and dangerous political conflict spreading around the world, the arrival of Spring this year feels more welcome – and precious – than ever. Craft, creativity and seasonal living offer much-needed escape and boost to our wellbeing. Making something of simple beauty with your own two hands might not be a big gesture in itself, but it connects us as creatives. There’s a quiet, gentle resistance in that, don’t you think?
Floral wreaths are the perfect way to celebrate the seasonal renewal of Spring. I love nothing more than a bright yellow daffodil, mimosa and narcissi combination but I’ve discovered lots of other creative ideas that I’d love to share with you. Greenery wreaths or a hydrangea wreath make a restrained, stylish option too. I’ve pulled together my favourite flower wreaths – to make or buy – so you can bring some easy, seasonal joy into your life. It’s the perfect time to get creative and make a front door wreath yourself, or browse beautiful spring wreaths to buy. I hope you find something you love. Do, as always, share your thoughts and ideas on the matter. I always love to hear from you and to see photos of your creations.
Spring wreath ideas to make
As seasonal décor goes, a handcrafted wreath is hard to beat. Making your own is much easier than you might think. Go asymmetric or for a more balanced look – either is just as beautiful.

I’m drawn to magnolia wreaths this year. I have a tree that always blooms around the third week of March, so I’m going to try my hand at making one – will share a photo here if it goes well…
In the meantime, how cute is this felt magnolia wreath sewing booklet pattern from Sewyeah? It includes magnolia, camellia, anemone, grape hyacinths and eucalyptus. With these you can make an abundance of blooms and create a truely unique wreath. The flowers would also look wonderful strung on a garland or displayed in a vase. Each flower is fixed to florist wire so they can easily be manipulated and shaped how you choose.

In the same vein, my forsythia is splendid right now, so I’m tempted to try out making a forsythia wreath too as I think it could add a beautiful touch to the door of my shed.
Succulent wreath

Succulent wreaths aren’t really my thing, but I know they’re really popular and ideal for warmer weather or interior walls, so check out this succulent wreath making kit: I’ve seen succulent arrangements as part of a layered wall display in uber stylish shops and eateries, often combined with natural wood tones and moody lighting. There’s a clean appearance and contemporary feel that could work well in a dining room.

If it’s vibrant colours you’re drawn to, how about this felt wreath kit by Bergin and Bath?
Or this beauty by The Crafty Kit Co from Article Somerset? Made in Scotland from Corriedale wool, the kit includes everything you need, including a natural willow wreath ring.

Spring and Easter wreaths to buy
I adore this feather and eggs Spring wreath
Individually handmade to order, it’s suitable for outdoor use with care – avoid wet, harsh weather or simply hand inside a porch or on an inside wall as part of your home decor. It’s made with Handpainted Artificial Eggs, Larch Cones, Lichen Twigs, Guinea Fowl Feathers, Natural Moss, Moss.
And how beautiful is this living wreath

It’s a great choice for hanging on your front door and will last longer than cut flowers. As spring wreath styles go, this is one of my favourites. I love the natural, rustic feel. It would be easy to make your own – willow rings are inexpensive to buy or easy to make and you could add in the moss to hold your bulbs by attaching with florist’s wire.
Fresh and dried flower spring wreath

I really like the combination of fresh and preserved flowers in this outdoor wreath. Due to the short lifespan of fresh florals, you could gradually remove them from the wreath as they fade and either replace with more fresh flowers or simply evolve to a fully dried flower and foliage wreath. Just worth remembering that dried flowers keep their colours longer if they’re kept out of direct sunlight. I love how soft blush tones and deep greens contrast and combine here. At wildly beautiful fuller seasonal display.
I picked this seasonal wreath for its beautiful simplicity – a simple eucalyptus wreath embellished with herbs and daffodils.

Handmade wreaths don’t get more charming than this. Combining fragrant rosemary and narcissi it will bring scent as well as beauty to your front door. Imagine the heavenly fragrance that will waft every time your open or close the door. With the arrival of warmer months, the beauty of floral arrangements like this is that you can remove flowers as they finish and replace with others that are coming into bloom.
I don’t personally like faux flowers so I haven’t included many here – just the prettiest options for bringing modern floral accents or lifelike seasonal designs. I prefer natural high-quality materials and, ideally, seasonal ingredients. Which is why I am drawn to this pussy willow wreath. It’s perfect as it is or you could add seasonal accents – even artificial flowers if that’s your thing.
Mimosa wreath

Mimosa is possibly my favourite flower for wreath making at this time of year. Check out this fresh look made with mimosa, textural foraged foliage and pittosporum. It’s such an easy way to bring a coordinated look to front door spaces.

White designs
Gypsophilia or baby’s breath – fresh or dried – is a popular choice for wreaths for good reason. Check out this beauty

As versatile designs go, simple white wreaths are perfect as you can add to it as you wish. Attach Christmas elements and you have holiday wreaths. Add feathers and decorative eggs and it’s Easter. You get the idea.
Blue designs
hyrdrangeas or muscari are possibly the best options to layer blue tones if, like me, you’d rather avoid a faux spring wreath.
check out this simple muscari wreath on etsy or how about this dried blue hydrangea option. Blue options are so often artificial blue wreaths but I prefer the dried or living bulb option for my own door décor.
This is the prettiest tulip wreath I found – it’s not real but as artificial pieces go, it’s one that brings fresh, effortless style to your front porch or door decor and is perfect for early spring.
Pink designs and peony wreath
Cheerful peonies are the ultimate pink flower for Spring to my mind. Why not make these pretty paper peonies from the Bergin and Bath kit – and make your own wreath for the spring season and beyond.

Add fresh soft greenery accents or a simple rustic willow ring for natural charm. Also makes a pretty, handmade housewarming gift idea too.
Green wreaths
How about this preserved mini boxwood wreath? This is a smaller wreath, so you’d probably want something larger for your door. Sometimes lush greenery and a simple ribbon is all you need – boxwood wreaths are perfect for this and create a stylish, inviting look. Of course you could easily make your own version of this too.
I have a bit of a thing for cherry blossom, but they don’t last if you pick them. So, if you’re wanting to make or buy something with elegant cherry blossoms it’s probably going to mean artificial wreaths or paper/felt flowers. How cute is this paper cherry blossom flower kit? The delicate blooms would look so beautiful added to a simple willow wreath ring, but pay close attention to where you hang it – fine to hang outside on warm, sunny days but wet weather would obviously be disastrous to delicate paper blooms. The perfect way to welcome Spring don’t you think?
