Deborah’s story
Deborah Reyner, the creative hand behind Tuffet.Co has spent a life working in the world of textiles & design. As a small business entrepreneur she developed simple, well-crafted and beautiful home accessories that sold to Liberty, Fortnum and Selfridges. An innovative fabric doorstop was in the Mulberry range for 5 years, as was the linen bedlinen at Heal’s.
As an adopted Londoner, Deborah was struggling with small space issues, looking for a perfect piece of furniture to accommodate guests, serve up a cup of tea, or put well deserved feet on at the end of the day. On a trip to Wales, she stumbled across a producer of sustainable wool and the Tuffet was born.
Tuffet quality is special – we have a relationship with British makers that know every which way to make things.We can find our ideas, trims & fabrics anywhere – in a cloth warehouse with an octogenarian owner who ‘knows his onions’; or spotted across a crowded vintage fair there is always something just around the corner to mix into the Tuffet creative pot.
We have a deep love of authentic cloth, like our popular wool herringbone from Scotland & Yorkshire, which has become a bestseller.
What makes the Tuffet so special? The gorgeous bespoke crafted leather handles & an eye for colour and materials. Sturdy & easy portable, Tuffets have been seen enjoying a picnic on a Sussex beach & relaxing during the golden hour at the Good Life festival.
