Basalt & Dune

Basalt & Dune is a brand new store based in the centre of St Davids, Pembrokeshire. We are a mother and daughter duo: Nicola is an artist and Gabrielle is a print and graphic designer. 

We wanted to create a store where people feel calm, relaxed and able to shop at their leisure. The beautiful surroundings of Pembrokeshire make you want to take a slower pace and to stop, look and appreciate. We wanted to convey this feeling of a life lived more slowly both in-store and online. We are so fortunate to have the beauty that West Wales has to offer right on our doorstep and we have chosen products that encapsulate the essence of our natural surroundings.

Makers in Wales

We have worked with artists and makers in Wales, the Marches and beyond to bring together a unique collection of gifts, homewares and lifestyle accessories that compliment coastal, country and city lifestyles. 

Being by the sea, we can see first hand the damage caused by waste and single use plastics. We therefore only purchase recyclable and biodegradable materials for our packaging. However, we receive a fair amount of protective and not-so-eco packaging from some of our bigger suppliers which we will be reusing in our web orders until we run out. If you wish to only receive recyclable packaging in your order, we ask that you leave us a note at the checkout requesting this.
