What are Tiny Homes workshops and holidays all about?
After fourteen successful seasons of running one of the UK’s first glamping businesses Helen & Frazer Cunningham have created Tiny Homes Holidays with the dream of taking the Glamping vibe even further to create an all year round sustainable ‘Tiny Homes’ Boutique Retreat. Expect the quirkiness and ethics of a glamping break in bespoke architect deigned permanent well built cabin-style houses.
“Simplicity of life, even the barest, is not a misery, but the very foundation of refinement” William Morris
Our Tiny Homes are set in a smallholding environment adjacent to the magnificent Parkhurst Forest with walking trails, cycle routes and wildlife galore – including the Isle of Wights famous red squirrels. Tranquil coastline or bustling Cowes are a cycle ride away. As you would expect the development utilises many eco friendly measures – including solar power, composting toilets, wood burning stoves and water recycling. There will be three (eventually six) Tiny Homes. We are purposefully keeping it …. tiny!
Guests will be able, if they wish, to join in working the soon-to-be-developed mandala garden, and will be able to help themselves to produce if they do. There are various workshops and events on offer in our studio that reflect the ethos of Tiny Homes.
The Studio
The Studio is our multi-purpose hub. A calm, relaxing and homely space with a kitchen area and a lovely woodburning stove. Uncluttered and calm for all kinds of activities.
Here we will host everything from writers talks, to craft workshops to yoga with an emphasis on wellness and well-being in all its different forms. The Isle of Wight with it’s slower pace of life, clean air and soul nurturing scenery is the perfect place to be.
Some of these activities will be included in your holiday and others will be optional extras.
We will be hosting specialist breaks where you may wish to learn a new skill or develop an existing one.
“The secret of happiness, you see, is not found in seeking more, but in developing the capacity to enjoy less” – Socrates
