My name is Giv, – Giverney if you want to be precise. I’m 25 years old and live in the beautiful city of Exeter, where I work as an administrator selling calendars, gifts and stationery. Born in England, I soon moved to Germany with my family, where I grew up bilingually throughout my childhood. In September 2018, I decided to pack my things and move to the capital city of Devon.
I blog about books, travelling and everything else important on my blog The Literary Traveller, where I have the opportunity to express myself and share my passion for books. I’m also founder of the Secondhand Bookshelf, and I hope you love it as much as I do!
The Secondhand Bookshelf was born out of the idea to create something meaningful, and I hope you see how much love and passion has gone into this project. I had been playing with the idea of starting my own online shop for quite some time and had been hoping to create a place, that lets others remember how important it is to slow down and take a minute for themselves in this hectic and fast world.
The Secondhand Bookshelf online shop combines everything I love! It emphasises the small changes we can make to live a greener life. It’s a starting point and in no way perfect, but I hope it can give you some inspiration as to where your journey could begin. With your help, we change the planet – one book at a time. From our packaging to the gift items we choose, rest assured knowing that we do everything with the environment in mind. Our book subscription boxes don’t contain any plastic and we use recycled materials where we can. And because that’s not enough, we also help plant more trees in collaboration with ‘Trees for Cities’ for every single box sold.
