Discover the Ceramic Botanist – Louise Condon is a Cheshire-based artist and designer who specialises in hand-built stoneware and porcelain ceramics that capture the exact likeness of real plants.
Working with smooth slabs of clay, Louise gently rolls real stems, wildflowers and foliage directly into the surface to leave a crisp impression.
Louise leaves the clay body raw and uses subtle oxides and stains (particularly cobalt blues, greys and greens) to highlight the fine texture of the botanicals she uses and to create a fossilised appearance.
The Ceramic Botanist studio produces a wide range of pieces ranging from small bud vases and jugs to larger statement wall plaques, tiles, splash backs, tableware and lighting.
