Ruth’s work is filled with tender thoughts of romance, nostalgia and melancholy. Like moods that are constantly shifting, her work ranges from happy to blue, silly to serious. She uses colour, pattern and drawing to resonate with those who collect her work and use it everyday.

Graduating in Fine Art in 2012, she makes art that is functional and accessible but has the feeling and sense of connection that you might find in a gallery setting.

Her work is inspired by poetic observations, overheard sentences, remembered song lyrics and quotes from books. These words are written down alongside delicately naive illustrations and patterns which seek to resonate and connect with others.

Ruth designs, makes and releases various collections on her website throughout the year, with many pieces being unique items. She also makes commission work, and has worked on custom pieces for interior designers, weddings and other precious life moments.

Ruth makes everything by hand at her studio in Sheffield, UK.
