Photography is prominent in Michelle’s work; snapshots of patterns, shadows and architectural details are combined with areas of bold flat colour in her textile works, as well as in her limited-edition prints and unique collages.
About Michelle

Photo by Dylan House-Beardsall She graduated from Goldsmiths college in the early nineties with a fine art textiles degree and in 1996 was awarded a Crafts Council Setting-Up grant. Further study followed with a digital fine art course, where she discovered how to use Adobe for print and animation, along with an Artists in Education course, resulting in several art residencies within primary schools. She has since planned workshops and taught textile printing to sixth-form students, at the Sackler Centre for Art Education at Dulwich Picture Gallery.
In 2025 she was selected to create new work for Collect Open at Collect Art Fair, Somerset House. Her textile installation ‘Celebrating what Remains – (What you Stole from Me)’ based on her mother and Alzheimer’s – combined her experience and skills in hand-printing textiles and intuitive use of colour with stitch, to create pieces that celebrated and remembered items made by her mother as acts of love for family and home.
