Damson & Slate is an ethical interiors collection edited by home designer and interiors stylist Hilary Lowe. Many pieces are woven on traditional looms and all are made with care in Wales. The collection includes modern Welsh blankets and one-off antique finds as well as an exclusive range of cushions, blankets and home accessories. All are designed and beautifully made in Wales.
I have lived in Pembrokeshire for over 9 years, after a long design career in London. Now I spend my time sourcing the most covetable welsh blankets, throws, cushions and lifestyle accessories. I have styled for a wide range of magazine titles over the years including Livingetc, Coast, Elle Decoration and Easy Living. I was also interior stylist for the Style section of The Sunday Times, forecasting and styling interior trends and writing the weekly shopping page. After my move to Pembrokeshire, I created Damson & Slate as an online outlet for my own collection of beautiful products made in Wales.
The Damson & Slate studio is situated in the old farmhouse cottage across from Hilary’s home in the main house. The farmhouse, built in 1900, is set in idyllic acres of meadow, ancient woodland and a stretch of the Cleddau river.
I am inspired by colour, nature, patterns and textural old surfaces. It’s this love of pattern, texture and colour that inspires my collections. I hope you love what you discover.
