Discover Forget me Not Originals fabric covered vintage books and notebooks
An ex-fashion buyer book lover turned bookbinder combining my favourite things – books and fabric!
I’ve always loved books and I’ve always loved fabric but it wasn’t until a book covering hobby got friends excited that I turned it into a business.
I have trained in the rudimentary skills of book binding so I can take a book apart and put it back together. But most of the books you see here have just got pretty new covers. I can do more if you need it!
I love the idea of my books being kept in families for generations. And the cycle of parents reading the same book to their children being repeated down the years. I love giving an old book a bit of TLC and hopefully a new lease of life. If I can, I try to make the cover I choose reflect the essence of the book inside.
I am always being asked where I find my books and fabrics. The answer is that I never stop looking! Wherever I go, I always find the bookshops or book fairs or vintage markets. It’s something I really enjoy and have been lucky enough to make it my job. I have a work room at home in Buckinghamshire and it’s often a jumble of books and fabrics. During the day just a large fluffy labradoodle keeps me company.
