Discover Future Vintage. Lindsay Girvan creates knitwear with purpose—a Shepherd’s Wardrobe, designed to be worn, lived in, and passed down.

Each piece is made entirely at Bonnytoun Farm in Scotland, crafted from the undyed wool of Lindsay’s own Shetland flock. Rooted in heritage, practicality, and craftsmanship, Future Vintage is woven with the land itself, connecting flock, maker, and wearer in a story of tradition and longevity.
Lindsay Girvan is a designer, knitter, and shepherd. From her farm, Bonnytoun Farm in Linlithgow, Scotland, she creates Future Vintage—a knitwear collection crafted entirely from the wool of her own pedigree Shetland flock. Her connection to textiles and craftsmanship is deeply influenced by her family history. Her grandmother, from Aberdeen, worked in a spinning mill and passed down a deep love for handmade textiles to her mother, and subsequently to Lindsay.
Lindsay’s work is a celebration of Scotland’s deep textile heritage, blending traditional craftsmanship with a modern, timeless approach. Every piece is hand-framed on restored Dubied knitting machines and finished entirely by hand, ensuring quality, longevity, and a true connection to its origins.
Each year’s collection—what she calls The Vintage Years—is shaped by the natural variations of the flock, the land, and the seasons. The colours, textures, and weight of the wool change with each passing year, making every piece impossible to repeat. This means every jumper, cardigan, scarf, hat, or pair of mitts is part of a limited, collectible edition—truly one of a kind. Her designs are a modern take on Scotland’s knitwear traditions, created with slow, thoughtful production in mind—pieces made to be worn, loved, and passed down.
