The Wendy Jeavons Art (formerly Red Brick Glass) story

When Wendy Jeavons was twelve years old she told her friends she was going to spend her life making things.

That when she was a grown-up she’d have her own shop to sell her creations.

It turns out she was right.

At Edinburgh College of Art she discovered her talent with glass. Solid but clear, strong but delicate.

Like layers of light, glass had a magical quality. Her love of making had found its perfect material.

After winning a Crafts Council Award in 2000, she took her passion for creating with glass into the professional world.

In a workshop with walls of red brick she worked as an architectural glass artist, collaborating with interior designers and

architects to create large-scale glass installations.

In 2006 she combined the skills she’d learned and the passion for making that she’d always had and finally fulfilled

that promise she’d made back when she was twelve. That dream of opening her own shop to sell the things she created.

Wendy Jeavons Art (formerly Red Brick Glass) reflects the shifting tides, expansive views, and coastal colours of the Dorset landscape. With over two decades of professional craft experience, Wendy has beautifully expanded her studio practice. Her work now spans beyond her signature architectural fused glass designs to encompass soulful, semi-abstract painting, fine printmaking, and creative mentoring. Working from her light-filled bases near Wareham and Lulworth Cove, her collections celebrate the natural textures and quiet magic of local South Coast landmarks.Alongside her original artwork, Wendy hosts a regular calendar of hands-on, small-group learning experiences designed to nurture creative confidence.

Through her popular fused glass workshops, students learn to assemble and fire their own custom seascapes and seasonal decorations, while her experimental painting classes encourage students to play with watercolours and acrylics out in nature. For those seeking an immersive escape, she organizes all-inclusive, multi-day coastal art retreats for women, alongside offering structured “Creative Compass” business mentoring sessions for fellow independent makers.
