About Helena Tyce Designs ethical hand made contemporary gifts and homeware. Helena has been producing vintage inspired contemporary design for almost 20 years. The business took a fresh new turn when her children were born (it is hard not to be inspired with a house full of rhyme and colour!) and so Helena Tyce Designs was re-invented.

We believe in giving back at every opportunity and doing no harm whether that’s to the planet or to other people.

Staying well is also top of the agenda for us and we think that putting your mind and body wellness first is something you should do every day.

We are offering a free download of our Wellness Print which you can print out and pop on the fridge as a reminder to be kind to yourself. And we have a range of stay well art to further inspire you here!

And finally it’s important to us that we do no harm in bringing our goodies to you. We source from inside the UK where ever we can and if not we aim to source ethically. Read our social responsibility statement here.

From my studio in the Creative Quarter of Nottingham I hand make beautiful gifts to inspire and empower kids from 1 to 92 years old. It’s a family affair with my husband creating the poems you see on the products and my two children and Maisie-the-Dog providing inspiration (and doggy kisses!)

If you notice our products make you feel emotion then we’re thrilled about that. We do everything straight from the heart, hoping to inspire and bring clearer meaning to the joys and challenges in life and adding reassurance that we are all treasured (who ever we are).

Everything you see on the website is created by me and has been hand drawn, painted, printed and collaged to bring you beautiful, heart felt pieces that make perfect gifts.

Helena is an avid collector of all things old and gorgeous – mainly ceramics and textiles from the late 1800s through to the 1970s and these influences are evident throughout the work.

She is also rather fond of the written word in any form – be it lyrics to songs poetry or nursery rhymes which feature strongly along with carefully selected hand drawn imagery.

Taking what we know and updating with a contemporary twist

Helena takes what we know and love updates it with a contemporary fresh twist.

All designs start life as original mixed media artworks which are lovingly hand painted collaged and printed.

A surface pattern designer by profession Helenas designs lend themselves perfectly to a range of surfaces including t-shirts bibs and bags.

Helena is passionate about producing art that little ones will treasure for years to come and that mums and dads will enjoy having on their walls.

We are also very happy to gift wrap all purchases so you can send them directly as gifts.

Helenas work sells here in the UK and abroad and she is proud to have stocked both Liberty and John Lewis with her designs.
