Why we love striped baker’s twine

December 2, 2014

So much more than simply string, striped baker’s twine adds instant style to your festive projects and wrapping.

We confess to having a bit of a love affair with the stuff. Just to show how versatile it is, we’ve collected some gorgeous images from Pinterest with great ways to use it your own projects.

Which colour to choose?

Red and white twine looks great with winter foliage to give an instant festive feel. Combine with rosemary, fir and mistletoe as they all all work well. For a smart contemporary look, choose black and white twine and use it with glossy white or monochrome gift wrap.

For a natural feel, team brown or green twine with brown kraft paper bags. Finish with a stylish gift tag or sticker, such as Katie Leamon’s Chevron Stripe Gift Tags  or Hello Deer Stickers.

Katie Leamon’s Vintage Wooden Spools of Bakers Twine (below, top left) are available in red, black, brown or green. With such pretty packaging, they’re good enough to give as gifts and make a great stocking filler for creative or crafty friends. Happy twining!
