Under the Cloth

Under the Cloth is a collection of beautiful British made nightwear in natural, organic and sustainable fabrics and is the creation of Jannine Newman, a fashion and interiors designer. Manufactured in small runs to avoid excess, the company is not driven by trends or fast consumption. Sustainability, traceability, workmanship and collaboration are at the heart of the company.

Under The Cloth was started by Jannine from her kitchen table on a shoestring; she designed a collection she herself would be happy to lounge in and to see hanging on the back of a bedroom door. The company promotes collaboration and ageless fashion and celebrates the older and younger woman – true to their word they used an older model to shoot for their first collection.

The look is feminine utility; soft minimal shapes, elegant colours and high quality fabrics and make. There are pockets in the nightdresses for practicality, denim housecoats you can run to the corner shop in and beautifully cut peg shaped Pyjama bottoms. Fabrics are organic denim, crisp cotton and soft jersey.
