The Natural Bed Company makes contemporary wooden beds using solid timber from sustainable sources in Sheffield South Yorkshire.
Keep it simple, keep it different and make it perfect! That’s been our guideline since we made our first bed 40 years ago. We love wood and we think the amazing natural resource of timber should be used to make beautiful furniture that will last. Buying timber from managed forests ensures that new trees are planted and the cycle of planting, growth and harvest can continue.
We believe in using local skills and preserving the tradition and satisfaction of making a piece of furniture from start to finish. Our style of production and the variation in wood grain and colour ensures that each bed is beautiful and unique.
Most of The Natural Bed Company wooden beds come in a full choice of sizes and timbers. These include oak, walnut, maple, beech, ash, cherry and pine. All are from sustainable sources in the USA and Europe.
Our workshop is located in Sheffield. Here our team of talented craftsmen make – from start to finish – our collection of solid wood beds, along with a range of bedside tables, and futon mattresses.
Generally an order is put into the hands of a single craftsman to take it from start to finish. We think this is an important connection between the woodworker and the customer. The craftsman has a sense of ownership of a finished product and responsibility to the client.
