About us...

The Bertinet Kitchen opened in September 2005 in the centre of beautiful and historic Bath.

Owned and run by French chef and baker, Richard Bertinet, the school offers a range of relaxed and fun courses for food lovers of all abilities and specialist baking and bread-making courses for amateurs and professionals alike.

The school won the South West Tourism Award for Best Tourism Experience in 2009 and has been featured in the US television series on PBS: Gourmet's Adventures with Ruth - a tour of cookery schools around the world. Richard was named as the BBC Food Champion of the Year 2010 at the BBC Food & Farming Awards on 24 November 2010.

The Bertinet Kitchen Bakery was launched in 2007, on Saturday mornings above the cookery school but demand has meant that it has expanded and now, as The Bertinet Bakery offers a range of breads that are available in Bath, Bristol and much of the South West, South Wales and London.

Bertinet Bread is now available at Selfridges in London, from Riverford Organics box delivery scheme in the South West, Wales and London and from other good food shops and delis in the South West and London.
