I’d like to serve English sparkling wine this Christmas. Can you recommend any?
Great choice! I spoke to English wine expert Stephen Skelton MW who suggested a few of his favourites: Camel Valley White Pinot 2007 Sparkling (£29.95) from Cornwall, Ridgeview Knightsbridge Blanc de Noir 2006 (£24.95) from Sussex, and Chapel Down Brut NV (£16.99) from Kent. To find out more about English wines, visit the English Wine Producers website, or buy Stephen’s latest book, The UK Vineyards Guide 2010.
Can I get a Christmas tree that's been grown in Britain?
You certainly can. Just visit the website of the British Christmas Tree Growers Association, where you can search for suppliers of British grown Christmas trees by area. We like the sound of Pines & Needles who grow their trees in Scotland and deliver nationwide... according to their website they ‘all wear kilts, are total tree huggers with huge sex appeal, are extremely witty and charming and don’t take themselves seriously at all’. Oh my!
We can't promise a reply to every question but we'll try our best!
