Sarah creates antique looking animals and folk art dolls which are entirely stitched on an old 1920's Singer treadle sewing machine.
After cutting, each doll or animal is stitched, stuffed and hand dyed. They are then gently baked in the oven and lightly sanded to create their vintage, careworn look. Each one is hand finished using antique boot button eyes, vintage mother of pearl buttons and rusty bells. Because they are individually handmade each animal and doll has it's own unique character.
Sarah has been making dolls and toys since she was given her first sewing machine by her parents aged 7. Northfield Primitives was established in 2007.
