About us...

Back to Basics is a not for profit venture supported by St Margaret's House, an independent charity settlement based several doors along from Back to Basics.

Inspired by local arts education charity B2B and the work which they have been doing over the last few years with marginalised members of the community, Back to Basics is a not for profit venture supported by St Margaret's House, an independent charity settlement based several doors along from Back to Basics.

Our aim is to bring all members of the community, whether they are artists, craft enthusiasts, designers, makers and complete beginners together under one roof to share ideas, learn, teach and be inspired to create.

By running predominantly arts and crafts classes and tailor made workshops for community groups during the daytime, and masterclass workshops in the evenings and at weekends, we aim to offer an exciting and varied timetable of activities.

The day to day running of the workshop is carried out predominantly by volunteers who are part of the volunteering programme at St Margaret's House.
