The wonderful William Morris said you should "have nothing in your homes that you do not know to be useful and believe to be beautiful." It's that principle which underpins all the Cooking Gorgeous designs. Except we've translated it as beautiful things that work.

After years of being frustrated with poorly made, ill-fitting aprons and tea towels that didn't dry dishes, we decided someone needed to do something about it. Then we decided that someone was us.

Cooking Gorgeous was created out of a desire to produce beautifully made, gorgeous looking aprons that really do what they're meant to do - fit, flatter and protect.

So, we started the designs completely from scratch - looking at how to get the best look and feel, not just accepting the way aprons have always been made. We then came up with ideas for making our lives in the kitchen that little bit easier too. Things like our "Toggle On" – a handy kitchen cloth that hooks on your apron toggle, so it’s always where you need it.

Creating the first range took a lot of hardwork, including focus groups, talking to chefs and trying, testing, then testing again until, nine months later, Cooking Gorgeous was born.

Our inspiration continues to come from those same simple original principles. Good quality fabrics, thoughtful design and timeless style.
