About us...

Vintage Vanilla offers a unique selection of vintage furniture and textile pieces together with contemporary and antique home accessories and gifts.

A Roman blind making service is provided and sewing courses are run where you can learn to make Roman blinds, curtains, cushions or develop your sewing skills. We also take commissions to revamp your chairs and stools with new or vintage fabric and we make bolsters and cushions in a fabric to suit you.

The Vintage Vanilla studio is in the village of Rushall on the Norfolk/Suffolk border near the market town of Harleston. Luxury bed and breakfast is available at Rushall House. So why not come to stay and attend one or two sewing courses and have a day out in Southwold.

Furniture is selected for its classic lines and faded elegance or its nostalgic country appeal. These individual, and sometimes quirky, pieces are restored and painted in a range of subtle colours or revived with a gentle wax. Often furniture and fabrics are combined to make a unique piece. For example linen and china cupboards are painted and lined with fabric or paper. Vintage chairs get a new lease of life with stylish seat covers using classic or modern fabrics with our own trimmings.

Individual textile pieces are designed using contemporary and vintage fabrics. We are always on the lookout for antique fabrics to reclaim; often we combine these nostalgic designs with natural linens and cotton ticking to create unique textile pieces such throws, cushions or table runners.

Delicate antique china, Edwardian etched glasses and silverware create a nostalgic look. Candles, lamps, French toiletries, garden accessories and other gifts are also available.

Most of our antiques are sourced here in East Anglia or on our trips to brocantes markets in France.
