Inspired by the countryside, gardens, urban wildlife, textile patterns, children's book illustration....

Smashing Chintz mosaics are made from broken patterned crockery reassembled to form birds, rabbits, cows and other creatures. Sometimes no breaking is involved and old china plates are used whole as the background - a 'floral backdrop' for the mosaic fauna.

Mainly sourced from flea markets and junk shops, occasionally broken china is donated by friends and family!

Smashing Chintz mosaic workshops are ideal for beginners and offer an opportunity to explore mosaic using mostly recycled materials in a relaxed and friendly studio environment. Learn how to mosaic and grout a mirror frame to gift or to keep. Weekend workshops cost £45 for two sessions.
